Classic blackcurrent and mint/eucalyptus nose with a touch of vanilla and spice from the oak. With air a touch of leather and leafiness which increases complexity.
On the palate lovely soft fruit and mint chocolate tones. Cinnamon joins from the oak with a beautiful plush mouthfeel. The tannins are integrated and the acidity still nicely balanced.
Definitely in its peak drinking window but no signs of a downward incline. It’s a really solid enjoyable Coonawarra Cabernet, but just lacks a bit of complexity and weight to make it top draw. But for around 35-40SGD it’s great value.
I’m not sure that complexity will come with additional time so while ageing won’t hurt the pull of the corkscrew is calling.
Once it breathed very impressive nose of dark fruits violets perhaps some licorice notes and a touch of mint. Explosion of blackberries and blackcurrants in the mouth with refined tannin and little oak left. There is great length driven by a good amount of acidity with small follow-up waves of that glorious fruit. Missing the tannin structure of a first growth but surely Australia's best value Coonawarra. Great condition under screw cap. Years of good life yet.

Very nice wine, considering the price I paid for it. Dark inky purple, and fruit nicely balanced the other flavours like menthol and leafiness. In a nice place but no hurry to drink. We very much enjoyed this smooth drink, on a random visit to the neighbours

From 75cl screwcap, decanted 30 minutes off considerable slimy sediment. In perfect condition (duh—screwcap—can someone please communicate this in Italy, France, Spain...) Gorgeous supple blackcurrant fruit; buffered, glycerine-rich, silky-smooth texture; gentle, lifted eucalypuus and mint notes; long, satisfying, acid-tingling finish. A beautiful Cabernet, an amazing bargain at 20 EUR German retail on release, up there with my best memories of Coonawarra CS. Good now and for at least 5 years to come. 92P

Two hours in the decanter.

From 75cl screwcap, decanted 1 hour (initially a bit clunky, it continued to improve until the final drop). Exactly as noted on 25.10.2022. 91–92P
