Fairly deep brick/purple in colour. Classic blackcurrant, mint, herbs, tar, and a hint of alcohol on the nose. It's only medium bodied on the palate, which is a good thing, as Majella cabs can be over the top. Nice balance, with similar flavours on the nose (except the alcohol) and a bit of ripe tannin. Good QPR and it should last 3-5 more years at least (B+).

Majella's Cabernet is always great value. The 2014 is still very young, and needs more resting time. There's cassis and floral notes on the nose, coupled with plenty of vanillin oak. Robust, grippy tannins on the palate, with a dark fruit driven finish. Maybe a touch too acidic? Time will tell. Looking forward to trying this again in 5 years.

Nose of graphite and smoky black fruit over a strong oak background. Palate shows an intense blackcurrant flavour, with a smooth mouthfeel but strong tannins.

C & C 3/3. Nose 6.5/7 Every CS thing there, in spades. Palate 7.5/10 Balance or maybe it's integration yet to happen. Fruit, acid and tannin all available but not yet making the whole. Expect it will come together in time. Seems all the things it needs are there.
