Popped and poured. Lemon, citrus and a bit of green on the nose. Lovely palate, lithe and mineral laden with a lemon core that sported an acidic and lively texture.

Similar to previous bottle (and this was my last bottle alas) this was beautifully open and continued to go strong day 2. Pleasant whiff of reduction, nose of buttered popcorn, very precise and alive with great acidity and very agile still suggesting this can easily go 10-20 more years.

A seriously open and pretty white Burg. As they say the best whites taste best with air and getting warmer here is one of them. Aired for three hours in the decanter and the wine warming up its beautifully balanced, radiant, fresh, tiny bit of reduction but very little (not the typical reduced PYCM nose), no heat but perfectly ripe. Reminds me a bit of a Genevrieres 07 that I had from Pierre Yves recently, which was great too. No hurry here but this bottle is just drinking really well right now.

Chassagne Montrachet Les Caillerets is one of the flagship wines from PYCM, Domaine vineyard, also one of the most “mineral” expressive wines from PYCM. Tasted blind – A fresh bouquet of orchard fruits and buttery oak spices. Crystalline minerals and creamy texture that resembles Meursault. Slightly high in alcohol. Creamy leesy flavours on the palate. Meursault 1er Cru? 2012? (90/100)

(Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Caillerets) Light yellow color; ripe pear, baked pear, apple cobbler nose; ripe apple, ripe pear, baked apple palate that thins mid-palate, lowish acidity; medium finish (a disappointment from an otherwise very impressive producer)
