Amazing. Called this blind. So much energy and complexity. Has shedded most of the reductive hallmarks of the domaine. Citrus profile. Could have benefitted from another 30 mins of air. But so impressive.

We had four good bottles of this (and one showing some oxidation). The good bottles were really singing and went very well with the food as it is broadly built for a PYCM wine with its quite ripe fruit and some buttery notes. Still with a nice tension from its lemon flavours and mineral spine. Everybody liked it a lot. It is probably at or close to peak now.

Compared to the glorious 2011 PYCM Merusault Perrieres, the Charmes is less flinty and vibrant, yet showing more ripeness. Plenty of ripe yellow fruit, butter and lemon oil on the palate. A flavourful Meursault but just missing all those signature goodies you crave with PYCM. And the wine is a bit one-dimensional.

Decanted for almost 3-hrs, this didn't show the usual struck-matchstick nose (of a young PYCM wine), but just a bit of flint, with lemons/citrus and white flowers scents that grew stronger with time in the glass. Intense (fruit-weight), yet clean/fresh/mineral, this was extremely inviting & delicious. Nice, and will likely improve with more age.

rating is for the pnp, where this had great acidity, mouthwatering, but nice touch of sweetness to make this like lemonade light... really great tension, with significant minerality in the back seat to the citrus fruit... great, not at great the next day where the acidity was dominant... love this wine though -- should have had the whole bottle on night one
