  • Interesting wine. Minerally. Initially the only other flavor was the finish that tasted like the burned sugar crust on a creme brulee. After five minutes it started tasting oxidated. I was ready to put the cork in and give up on it because of a bad experience with Pithon's 2003 LA D18. THen it really came around. The finish is lingering. There's now kind of honey and grass on the attack and lime on the finish. Not complex and not the QPR I would hope to pick up in the Roussillon, but I felt like I got my money's worth on close out for $15. I'd drink this again.

  • Interesting wine. Biodynamic, with characteristic mineral notes and fruit secondary. Very little aromatics, other than some mineral. On the palate, minerals predominate, with stone, wet grass, and herbs. Slight apple flavors. Had with roast chicken, salad.

  • Nutty, oily-textured, long finish. Color of an older chenin blanc rather than macabeu, at least from my experience. Not as fragrant as it is flavorful. Rose aromatics in the mouth. Bright acid on the finish. I'm enjoying this by itself, but it could probably stand a food pairing, perhaps some white fish in a seasoned broth of some sort. I've had Marsannes that have not had this much going for them.

  • A schizophrenic wine. The nose showed toasted nuts, honey, nutmeg and wet fall leaves. The palate was green apple and stainless steel. It did have good balance of acidity and tannins. I just couldn't get past the disjointed nose vs. palate thing. I won't repeat this one.
