Sommelier Journal

(Banfi Chianti Classico) From a winery better known for its fruity, bold, well-structured Brunellos, this Sangiovese is blended with nominal amounts of Canaiolo Nero and Cabernet Sauvignon. A saturated ruby in color, it has aromas of mulberry, orange-spice tea, peppermint, rhubarb, and cedar. It’s medium-bodied and as fruit-forward as one might expect from this producer, with bright notes of plum and cherry, gentle fruit and soft oak tannins, and a long, dark-cherry finish. Special Report: Chianti Classico
