1997 Vintage Deep Garnet colour. Dark fruits, chocolate, mint spice on the nose. Front palate dominated with blackberry collapsing into a narrow middle palate of leather and plenty of tannins. Very long finish with tobacco and earth tertiary notes.

28th October 2019 Decanted for a very short time; color is a little brownish which shows it’s age (22 years)...it’s nose is a little fragrant with hints of fruit...hardly any legs. The first mouthful is surprisingly pleasant though a hint of sourness on the initial finish. However on subsequent glasses the wine increased in balance and the elegant though medium with no hint of sourness. Very pleasant wine perhaps more robust in its youth. Enjoyable...looking forward to the 1998.

From magnum, Christmas Eve dinner, perfect claret substitute. This is one of the few Australian cabernets I have every tasted that has that the flavours of old Bordeaux. A gentle wine, without a lot of stuffing.
Drink now.
13%ABV, sealed with cork, magnum.

Being 19 years old, we Decantered the wine for a short 10minutes to check the sediment levels. The wine looks brick colored with a tinge of brown which was a concern for me. There were hardly any legs however there is light sediment in the bottle. The nose smells like blackberry and black currant (cassis). The first mouthful was a very surprising smoothness and balanced wine, well aged with a pleasantly subtle berry flavor. The body is medium/full with a smooth texture. The wine finishes with a long length extending the enjoyment quotient leaving me wanting more. Well worth the 19 year wait! Only one bottle left....delicious!

Cracker wine. Intense cassis, dark chocolate, dark berry liquorice, tar. Supple tannins, some mint on the finish. Great Cabernet, still going strong.
