Past its prime but holding up surprisingly well considering its age. At this point you're getting some cooked black fruit and a lot of funk. I might have liked this more 5-10 years ago, but still giving it a decently high score because others may enjoy the funkier turn it's taken. This did come from Winebid for whatever that may be worth.

Passive aeration for 90 minutes, then spectacular. Dumas said best wine he has ever had. Amazing accompanying ribeye and sliced potatoes and onions on a skillet. Miracle Mile wine.

some trouble with the cork so had to decant. green and black pepper on the nose, bright and/but bold fruit forward, transitions to the green vegetables of the nose, then transitions to crispy spice and black pepper. a little short on the finish and the very nice initial complexity waned after a couple hours so maybe past its peak but still wonderful!

92-93. Stood up for few months. Cork needed Durand. Funk needed a few hours to blow off. Settled down to rich cabernet fruit, a little browned. Some clove. Some green funk that reminded me of Montelena. Like a richer, more concentrated Montelena. If that funk was not present, this would be a little too sweet for me. I enjoyed it a 91-92, but objectively a 92-93.

Consistent with prior bottles, but without the heat.
