Still retained a dark purple color. There is some dark fruit and cassis on the nose and palate at this point they are subtle. The wine is still enjoyable but clearly past peak

Fine and intact cork. Quick decant. Beautiful blackcurrant on the nose. Comes out a bit subtile, but in 10-15 minutes it really start to blossom. Huge fruit consentration, smooth as velvet and in perfect harmony. 1,5-2 hours after opening, about 20 celsius, it shows so much power. The taste lasts forever, and I'm so happy this wine proved me wrong. I feared it was past it's top. 94p

I feared this was too far off from it's peak, but it still has beatutiful fruit, nice integrated tannins and fine acidity.. Complex, balanced and gentle. Might be it has been more of itself some years ago, but I didn't mind the gentleness and my guests was very impressed about the wine. This is the sort of wine experiences I want in my life.

(Argiano Solengo Toscana IGT) Very dark red violet color; appealing, redolent, tart black currant, tart plum nose; youthful but maturing, tart black currant, tart plum palate with integrating oak; needs 3 years; medium-plus finish 91+ points (45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, 25% Syrah)

It's best days are behind it in my opinion, though the host thought it had time left. Dark fruits barely perceptible. Not picking up much else.
