Crimson in color. 14% ABV. Stunning nose of dark fruits, mint and tobacco. Medium body with great acidity and vibrant fruits. Concentration and power in spades. Currants, cassis, plums and spearmint on the palate. Exceptional length on the finish. Tremendous wine that throughly exceeded my expectations given the challenging vintage. Best over the next 3-5 years.

Wonderfully balanced blend 19 years in than I honestly expected, with 2003 being such a hot and often confusing vintage. It needed every moment in those 19 years but it unfurled into a lovely bouquet of dark fruits and rose petals. Delightful plushy tannins. I think the evening and the modest expectations framed this wine in such a pleasant light, but it was a consensus top 5 wine from a competitive lineup. Disappointing to have no more bottles behind this, but glad that I waited for the right time to open it.

Crimson in color. 14% ABV. 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and 25% Syrah. Super nose of black and red fruits, leather, cedar and pencil shavings. Medium to full bodied with medium acidity. Exceptional balance and no telltale signs of the scorching '03 vintage. Warm and rich with supple tannins. Currants, cassis, olives and coffee on the palate. Tremendous length on the finish. Exceptional wine that will be at its best over the next 2-4 years.

Dark fruit , beautiful silky tannins. Lot's of life left. Decanted for an hour.
