still youthful colour, no brown at rim, good warm rich nose, fruit but also a hard character toward the finish, relatively light and forward, not a lot on the back palate, some alcoholic burn (15%), OK but not really my thing, others may appreciate it more as reflected in the higher CT ratings

Moderate ruby color in the glass. Dried cherry, red licorice, smoked meat, and garrigue evident on the nose. Like many ‘11 CdP’s, a bit lighter on the palate but still with nice red fruit, pleasant minerality, and just a hint of tannin. Blend of 65% Grenache, 20% Syrah, 10% Mourvèdre, and 5% Cinsault from 80 year-old vines. 15% alcohol.

Vivid ruby in color, this wine reveals aromas of smoke. bitter cherry, anise and cured meats on the nose. The mouth feel is medium bodied with abundant white pepper, game and lavender elements. The finish is medium/long with approachable tannins and orange zest undertones. 14% abv.
Purchased for $25US, this is an excellent qpr. It's drinking very well now. It's also throwing off a lot of sediment.

Harmonious blend. Well integrated alcohol and smooth fruit. Not overly extracted or sweet and delivers a very pleasing black fruit finish. The grenache does give this a soft roundness and it has no rough edges. The brett gives real earthy quality and complexity in the palate.
lovely stuff.
