taste: medium/full bodied with medium+ acidity that is slightly out of balance. There are still some good tannins left as well along with tones of dark red fruits, roasted herbs and incense tones too.
overall: this was a very nice brunello. It wasn't up there with some of the others. It also did seem rather young all things considered.

I gotta agree with Decster, this wine is not bad, its past its prime and its really short on the finish. the nose has some reduction with some plasticy aromas. Not a great showing.

Seepage through 2/3 of the cork, but no signs of strong oxidation. Brick red and fairly clear. N: sweet cherry fruit, flowers, caramel. P: slightly tacky mouthfeel. Cherry-grape juice, slightly tart. Good persistence, with some meaty notes showing up on the mid-palate. No lack of fruit, I don't think this is far past it's prime, and everything fits together well. But it is somewhat 1 dimensional.

Brunellos 15+ years and older (Moderno, Highland Park IL): nose: dark fruited based nose with tones of dark red fruits, roasted herbs, incense and dark berries. Balanced, but lacking some depth
