5h bottle from a half case bought en primeur. Silky smooth tannins covering a cherry and anise flavour and long finish. Nose is developing secondary notes of sous bois and the anise is becoming more dominant. Beautifully balanced elegant and classy wine. Surprisingly good for a lesser vintage. Drink over the next few years.

The plot is directly next to AF Gros' vines in Les Véroilles (ou Richebourg), 50% new oak. Wonderful aromatic richness on the nose, floral and fresh, with a distinct spicy warmth that is clearly reminiscent of Côte Rôtie, or more appropriately the Assmannshaüser Höllenberg; elegant palate, muscle and drive without much weight, cool minerality and bright acidity with fine but firm tannins; the finish leaves the palate dry but perfumed. On its plateau of maturity, loses its mojo pretty quickly in the glass, drink now - 2026.

nose - lovely red fruit, pomegranate and ripe plum mouth -again lovely juicy red fruit, oh so elegant with fine tannins and in proportion acidity, you might guess this to be a good Chambolle rather than Vosne, and not having had any other vintages I suspect its a 2011 phenomenon. Really liked this.

Tasted with 2017. Both medium red, 11 more browny rim, 17 purplish; 11 somewhat muted nose, bit of caramel, woody flavours; 17 completely different, fruity with lots of raspberries; 11 appears somewhat closed (?), medium body, agreeable, correct, 17 fresh fruity flavours, a bit soft drink-like; I preferrred 17, wife and my mother preferred 11 - thought it would have been the other way around; I lacked more complexity in 11, while enjoyed the straight forward fruitiness of 2017, although I agree with rest of family that it is more soft water like, unlike the 11, which is clearly matured and “assembled”
