  • Cassis, violets, florals, leather, mushroom with noticeable oak spice that is mostly integrated. Still very youthful, showing structure and vosne spice in the palate. Not entirely convinced it will get better in the cellar, as air only muddled the flavor and the finish shortened. The 2002 vintage character of fresh fruit sweetness wrapped in ripe-fruit tartness shines thru more than the winemaker signature here. Bottle 2 of 12 consumed in the past 3 months and while this bottle showed better than the first, the bottles are consistently enjoyable, even if my heart didn’t sing like it would drinking better made burgs from my fav young burg vintage.

  • 2nd of 6, opened 45 minutes then decanted 45 minutes, perfect cork and level, attractive lacey transparent style, nice spice and minerality, showing slight lack of material, decent balance, some upside, 10+ years. F+ (18).....much nicer than first bottle in Sept 2020 and now at least on a par with Clos des Reas.

  • So vosne-romanee. Great nose, Asian spice box and tea leaf. On palate it was harmony with semi stew red fruit and delivering balance sweetness and acidity. Structure very much intact such that testimonial to the provenance.

  • Very good with the classic deliciousness of the 2002-vintage. Bright red fruit, vosne spices and fine mineral balance.

  • 1st of 6, pnp, perfect cork and level - transparent ruby, some brown on rim; mainly black fruit, quite fresh, hint of spice, some iron, not particularly complex or meaty; medium, ok length, persistence, sense of dilution mid palate, nice balance, lacks excitement and not up to last week's Clos des Reas 02 surprisingly, upside though. F (17.5).
