  Lovely bottle; the nose too a minute to open, but then showed very much a spiced red fruited profile with some underlying minerality and floral notes; the nose kept opening and the palate was quite nice; not a super dense wine, but lovely balance and very good depth for the vintage. Lovely finish of spiced plums. I continue to have good experiences with multiple 2011s and will continue to look for them given the relative value in the marketplace.

  Mid-garnet almost to rim; smoky, lifted (red) fruit on nose but on suave side; pronounced acidity, on the skinny side yet attractive; no real depth but decent enough & quite long. Drink up.

  Darker translucent ruby. Nose of poised, delicate red raspberry and strawberry scents as well as wafting violets cut with very fine iron and crushed stone. Layers of lacy but steely, ever deepening red berry, ferric granules, quietly grand spice, and fine dirt on the satin-textured palate. Refreshing, integrated acidity balanced by smoothed but still-structured tannin. Long finish of burnished red fruit, sifted soil, iron and spice. A wine of singular elegance and persistence.
