1990-99 1er cru dinner at The Bristol (Chicago, IL): Another of the wine of the night candidates. I really enjoyed this, as it seemed to pronounce loudly and proudly that it was from Vosne. Earthy and backwards nose, but at the same time a very clear hint of Vosne spice. Dense and backwards on the palate as well, this had a fair bit of structure still to resolve. This is made from some very good raw materials, and I'd be excited to age bottles of this for a few more years.

A little leather and dark fruit turns to cherry and sous bois with floral undertones.

Second Sunday Group: 2010 Bordeaux (satellites & "lesser" growths) (Leon's): Nonblind with dinner. Meaty, red cherry and and forest floor notes. Herbs, cherry and mineral flavors on the palate. Soft and fading a bit. Pleasant, but should be consumed in the enar term I think.
