  • Kept for two years under condition 1, for the same time under condition 2 (see my profile). Nose: Taste: refined herbs and fruit, chocolate and (a bit to strong) licorice. At the second day cherry-liquor. Acidity was not on the front, which seems a characteristic of barbera. At first the tannins seemed still noticeable, although later I realized that this impression might be caused by the high alcohol (14%). The alcohol was burning at the second day. Anyway the tannins were more resolved compared to my former bottle. Interesting wine. To be drunk now or within one or two years. 88.

  • Nose: Good, fruity. Taste: good red berries and cherries, chocolate and good acidity. The tannins still were a bit astringent. A classy wine in the making, I guess, very good. Only the alcohol is with 14,5% to heavy for me. This bottle needed about one more year of cellaring. 89-90.

  • (Artisan Wine Depot Los Gatos) - Minerals on the nose. Palate of red berries with medium tannins in good balance with acidity. Medium finish. Drinkable now.

  • Quite deep coloured; dark fruits on the nose, spice and licorice root. Some spice notes; lovely dark earthy fruits and refreshing acidity. Classically Italian cherry stone acidity. Lovely example of barbera.

  • The wine looks garnet colored. The legs are medium. There is moderate sediment in the bottle. It smells like raisin, blackberry, cranberry and raspberry. It tastes like blueberry, cranberry, red currant, coffee, mineral and chocolate. The body is medium/full. The wine has leathery texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has medium acidity.
