  Friday Night Double Blind Semi-Mondo $80+ (Bin 75 Alpharetta, GA): Dark semitranslucent core with maroon rim; meaty, hinting at a touch of VA, plum, sour, sweet cherry, kirsch, raspberry, tannins relent nicely, in a good spot, classic, balanced and still ageworthy; '10 Janasse VV Cdp?

  Very pure, elegant dark red colour with a restrained nose but with some coaxing produced scents of iodine, blackberries, and strawberry rhubarb. The palate is very clean, pure with lots of glycerine but packing lots of tannins and structure for the long haul. Won't open another bottle for another 5-8 years as this needs time to settle and open up with time. 92+ for now. This will become something special with time.

  Did not enjoy this as much as last bottle - but others in our group liked it a lot. For me it missed depth/subtlety. Interestingly the tannis are still very noticeable, so perhaps with more years under its belt it will soften and perhaps reveal more complexity.

  Very thick. Loads of florals and spices. Clearly fruity but hard for me to place. Not your usual CNDP.
