  • Drank from a magnum over two days. Really young and primary. It’s good but needs time as it’s lacking the flash and opulence of other 19’s. Baking spice, dark chocolate, graphite, cherry, pepper and dried herbs. Fine but persistent tannins. Give it five plus years.

  • Wine ranked 10 of 12 for 2019 CdP tasting.

Beautiful nose. Spice, cheese, lots of flavor I couldn't quite place. Nose was very thought provoking. Not much on the palate, the acid was intense and too many tannins. Too young imo for right now.

  • The Roger Sabon "Le Secret des Sabon 2019" is an outstanding C9dP from an excellent vintage. It is impossible to descripe the taste in words but I think Jeff did a really great job in doing so. I can only add that it is for me impossible to understand how a wine can be so opulent and silky but nonetheless also elegant and complex. My score is 98 but I am excited how this beauty shines in approximately 8 years. Enjoy.

  • The best vintage of Le Secret des Sabon since the otherworldly 2001, this is exciting from the moment the wine hits your glass due to its incredible nose packed with flowers, black and red fruits, herbs, peppery spices and thyme. The magic however is on the palate. There is weight, density and, concentration. Even with its wealth of fruit, the wine remains elegant, refined, silky, opulent, balanced, fresh and effortless to drink. The wine is made from seriously old vine Grenache, from mostly old vines that are more than 100 years of age. Clearly, this is in contention for one of the wines of the vintage. Drink from 2028 - 2040
