Served to accompany sirloin steak, opened and decanted one hour. This exceeded my expectations. Lovely cherry colour, showing no age. Dark berry fruit on the nose and palate, plums, nice amount of depth, good length. Held well in the glass. Very good.

This needs a few hours of air to take on some complexity; until then it is fairly monotonous. I missed it the 2nd night, but on the third was pretty raisiny. But at peak it is really interesting, with blueberry, but also flowers and tar, with some oak notes that are fairly refined.

Last of the stash. Really coming along nicely. Jujube shiraz notes and flavour with a smoothness starting. Quite high acid (prickly) that stands out. I think this is still a young wine that will start showing best at 10 years old.

(Langmeil Shiraz Valley Floor) Very dark ruby color; focused, ripe red berry, tar, roasted black fruit, oak nose; concentrated, ripe red fruit, cherry, hickory smoke, oak, ripe cranberry palate; medium-plus finish (14.5% alcohol)

Big and bold but not one dimensional. Loads of bright fruit along with eucalyptus, blueberry, smoked meat. Delicious.
