This was the $20 “mystery wine” with my last Zyn order. I feel they were good to me. Deep ruby with light intensity nose of black plum to the extent there was. Dry with high acidity medium plus tannin and high alcohol creating a full body. The palate is far more pronounced than the nose and features black and blue berry, liquorice and chocolate making for a medium finish. All told, a good to very good offering.

It is classic Barossa Shiraz, warm, velvety and inviting. You get spiced berry and plum fruits and some vanilla. There’s a nice balance between sweet and savoury elements and it is persistent.

This is always a winner from Langmiel. Rich fruity and a quality wine.

Barossa be consumed (Carriageworks, Redfern): slightly reductive blackberry, sweetly spiced, vanilla. Juicy, blackberry silky tannins <shrugs>
