Four hours of decant time, the nose and palate ring true with the Cornas qualities of bacon fat, black olives, underbrush and leather. The tannins are prominent at the start but get in step with the acidity after a few sips. This has the structure you want to experience and the balance needed, with a medium mouthfeel and a longer finish. Nice bottle of aged syrah that is ready to go now, no further aging is necessary to enjoy this fully.

Intensity medium. Wide ranging aromas and palate: Blackberry, (black) cherry, blueberry, (cooked) plum, green pepper, black pepper, forest floor, cigar box, laurel, liquorice, black olives. Acidity medium. Tannins high. Long finish. Excellent wine from the (south of) Northern Rhone. Could easily do with a number of years extra.

Great bottle, probably even on the young side. Black currant, black berry, meaty, green bell pepper, kirsch, ceder, minerality, licorice, black pepper, forest floor, laurel, and stewed plum. On the palate comparable with smokiness. Medium acidity, high tannins. Long finish Gorgeous Northern Rhone bottle

5 hour decant. Lots of rich bacon fat. Not much olive. Raspberry fruit on the nose and palate. Very nice.

Consistent with last bottle. Quite mellow, very elegant. More about finesse than power - if you can say that about a cornas
