  • Pnp. Juicy, dark red fruits, olive tapenade, medium finish, little dustiness on the finish. Drying finish with medium- length. In a good spot. Not sure if this has the acid or tannin to last much longer but should remain in a good spot for a few more years. Unclear how the fruit evolves.

  • Really wish I could say I like this. But I don't. Volatile, off balance, rustic and lacking Syrah qualities. Nothing about this wine says Syrah. It would be ok as a sub $10 southern French red, but for Cornas, you'd expect more. The nail polish nose and palate are really the dominant characteristic of this wine.

  • Lighter in style. Needs some air, which it did not get. Not bad, but I think not quite ready. The rule of 15 seems to dominate everything N Rhone.

  • Nose: The nose is pure Northern Rhone as it is filled with black pepper, leather, animale notes, black cherries, black raspberries, and some violets. This is open-knit after two hours of air with excellent depth and style.

Taste: Medium/full bodied with medium+ acidity and medium+ tannins. The feel is polished with a raw underbelly backed up with black pepper, black cherries, animale, black raspberries, and tobacco notes.

Overall: This took nearly an hour or so to open up. Once it did, it was drinking beautifully and provides an earlier drinking side that also appeals to those that enjoys a more raw side to their Cornas.
