The 2001 Bric Mentina I opened last night is what I call weak sauce. The best part of this wine was the color which was a slightly oxidized cloudy red. After an hour in the glass the nose showed very little other than old wood. There was no fruit and no indication that this was made from nebbiolo grapes. Where are the beautiful rose petals and delicious tar? I've been waiting patiently for years to blow the hatch off this and other than being corked, I couldn't have been more disappointed. Michael drank half the glass I poured him and dumped the rest on the lawn.
