Blind. Guessed this was the Suchot from the nose. Earth, autumnal, asian spice. Palate is silky, nice texture. More spice, followed by tart red fruit and sense of sous bois that is real nice coupled with the dark spice. Still has some youthful vigor, but decent drinking now after 60mins in decanter. Like some of the '11s I've had, there's a purity here, but not a lot of depth. Not a great Suchots, but a god drink at 10 years of age.

this is a bit of a polarizing wine. without food, its a bit thin, tart, and very tannic. not complex and not a beauty to drink on its own. In contrast, once I had this our dinner - a rich gruyere cheese high end mac n cheese -- the wine really was quiet enjoyable. with the rich cheese flavor, the wine became full of tart cranberry, raspberry; asian spices; the tannic finished turned into a long pleasant finish. with food this is a 92. without, its a 88. so call it a 90 and def not one that I think will get better - so drink up now but have it with something fairly rich to eat.

This was an enjoyable bottle (at $80). It has volume and depth, but there is little complexity. The tannins are still prevalent, so perhaps that is an age thing.

Not worth $100+ but still a good Pinot. I served this for Christmas dinner and thought it was quite good, but I remember thinking that for the same price I could find an exceptionally excellent American Pinot. Burgundy is overpriced but still a joy to drink. Two days later what remained in the bottle was not special in any way, suggesting to me that this will not last to 2025, as WA suggests. Drink up over the next couple of years, and I guess I will mostly prefer the more complex aromatics and fruit of Chambolle-Musigny. But if tariffs add to the price of French wine, there is no point in thinking about it further.
