A blend of Grenache (50%), Cinsaut (15%), Syrah (15%), Carignan (10%) and Mourvèdre (10%).
Very deep and dark black-red color with almost opaque core, turns cherry red color toward the rim. Ripe and somewhat sweet-toned nose with brooding aromas of plum-driven dark fruits, some juicy forest fruits, a little bit of sweet oak spice, a hint of ripe strawberry and a touch of earthy, aromatic garrigue. The wine is full-bodied, ripe and slightly warm on the palate with quite dry and savory flavors of dark plums, cherries, some sweet and toasty oak, a little bit of wild strawberries, a hint of meaty umami and a touch of garrigue. The structure relies both on the medium-to-moderate acidity and firm, moderately grippy tannins. The quite lengthy finish is slightly warm with rich and juicy flavors of ripe dark forest berries, plummy fruit, some toasty, sweet-toned oak spice, a little bit of brambly blackberry and a hint of boysenberry marmalade.
A balanced and enjoyably nuanced Southern Rhône red which would be quite easy to confuse for a Châteauneuf-du-Pape - although this wine feels perhaps a bit less sweet and big than your typical CdP. Good structure and nice balance between the ripe fruit and the more savory non-fruit tones. Drinking well now, but most likely can get a point of two with additional age. Good stuff.

Dark color. Insipid nose of black cherry, but hard to guess the varietal. Palate is substantial and round, but again somewhat opaque. Better on Day Two. Seems uninspired. Disappointing given the rave reviews for the winemaker.

Slightly tart black raspberry fruit along with a mild black olive component. Perfectly pleasant but nothing special.

Really nice wine. Meat and oak on the nose. Long aftertaste.
