  I really enjoyed this. Don’t have a lot of experience with this producer but was very pleasantly surprised at how vibrant this wine was. Displayed a color that I’d describe as a hue of purple/red with an interesting tinge of copper. On the nose you get a lot of really intense barnyard funk (and I’m saying that in an extremely complimentary way) with tannins that are a bit polished but still grippy. Secondary scents of cassis, earth, and tobacco are a wonderful old world backdrop to nicely rounded medium-length finish. Still has aging potential given complexity of structure, I’d say easily 5-10yrs, reinforcing to me this was a pretty solid vintage after all.

  Wow! Drinking exceptionally well. Great balance, lovely perfumed nose, supple. Still full red, emerging from its more tightly wound youth but maintaining youthful fruit and exuberance. Great wine with grilled fish.
