Community Tasting Notes (1)

  • So. Apparently the 'Cuvee Madame' isn't being made anymore, and what used to be the regular cuvee is now the second wine, and the Cuvee Madame is now the regular cuvee. Except it isn't - the ferocious intensity of the Madame is gone and in its place is a nice, well executed Sauternes alike, but it costs the same as a Sauternes. So frankly you might as well just buy Riuessec at the discounted prices which Lafite-punters dump it at: you get a better wine in the same style at the same price. I miss the baroque "Sauternes on steroids" styled CuveeMadame...
