The Dirty Dozen Tasting 2013 (Il Botaccio, London): Supposedly a 'floral' savagnin but the nose is very spicy/sweaty (reduced). Palate is gorgeous though: really vibrant with trademark savagnin bite to the finish. Great. 17/20.

Smells of charcuterie at first. It is a really savoury wine with notes of wild herbs, flint and flowers. There’s just a whisper of fruit (think rockmelon and paw paw) and it has a fabulous, layered texture. It is really quite an engaging drink that changes in the glass and excellent with fermentAsian’s dish of prawns that are mildly spicy.
