A tasting involving 2005,2006,2007,2011&2013. This was the most accessible and balanced wine. The others, especially 2007 require many more years of bottle age or much longer decants. Similar to my other experience with 2011 a few years ago, this only needed about 45 min in the glass to broaden out. The 2011’s are ready to drink along with the 05’s only because the fruit in the 05 appears to be fading slightly. The rest should be held for a few more years. The 2011 should drink well for another 5 plus years while the others should reach their prime in 5 plus years. The 2011 pairs well with a wider variety of foods but the other wines need very large meals like steak or pizza at this moment.

Much improved with 24 hour of slow ox. Black and blue fruits on the nose and palate. Just enough acidity to keep it from being flabby. Silky tannins. Good spot with lots of air…not sure will hold up long term.

Coravin pour. Blackberry aromas and palate. Nothing terribly tertiary at this stage. This is in your face ripe Cabernet. Tannins are a bit astringent to my liking but supported by a healthy dose of acidity. A decade in, not sure if this is heading to the promised land. Lags in development from other high end 11s. Not sold on the evolution of Cardinale wines tbh.

Coravined 250ml out into a small bottle and then poured slowly into a decanter running along the sides.
Nose: intense perfume, intense blackcurrent, and much more.
Palate: FULL bodied, like a condensed liquid, FRUIT, incredible.
It’s hard not to like, the intensity and complexity is hard not to like.
