The wine has an orange rim, but nice dark red color overall. Lots of blueberries, licorice, blackberries, cassis, black olives and herbs de Provence.
I decanted the bottle an hour or so ago.
As I experienced with my previous bottles of this vintage, the tannins have softened and it is ready to enjoy, but they are still noticeable. It shows Bandol typicity as it will probably always show a rustic side.
Day two: I saved half of this bottle into a 1/2 bottle, stuck the cork in it and put it back in the cellar overnight. So this evening, this is not such a great wine. I am not sure what to think about this. Now there is a lack of fruit plus drying tannins on the palate.

Opened decanted and served. Monitored over a good hour or so and frankly little changes along the way. Pretty wine, understated, sort of sat lonely on the list of Willi’s Wine Bar, Paris . One thing we noticed against it was it felt a touch raisiny, definitely the ripeness got a bit away from it during the growing cycle. And this robs the wine of a bit of the elegance , makes it a bit heavy on what otherwise is a superb wine. 91-92 and we wonder if ageing will make this better, as we worry if a secondary side and evolved fruit side would only make this worse vs the raisiny side.

The nose was somewhat muted when I first opened it a couple of hours ago, but now it is a little more expressive. I think it is always beneficial to give these wines at least an hour after opening before enjoying them. Decanting is actually best.

While the tannins have softened and it is ready to enjoy, you definitely get the rusticity of this being a Bandol. But it lingers on the finish making it a great winter drink!

Not sure why but I thought this wine was either flawed or bad. The color was dark garnet and clear with no debris present. There was a smell of vanilla and red/purple fruit. On the mouth the vanilla/carmel was still present but there was a near absence of fruit. I was extremely disappointed this wine as I had enjoyed other vintages from this vineyard.

Lovely Tempier at a great drinking window. Slight bricking at the edges, heady nose of crushed stones / tarry licorice / blueberry / coffee. Seamless on the palate, yum.
