Purchased and cellared since 1990. Decanted for 30 minutes before tasting. Fill bottom of neck and cork wet 3/4ths, Medium red with slight browning; gorgeous nose after a few minutes of air - garrigue and other herbal overtones - very complex. On. the palate excellent depth and fruit - hard to believe this is 36 years old. Maintains an excellent finish and taste over 2 hours of a lovely lunch. Very impressive but just a bit behind an 85 drunk a few years ago. Mourvedre really ages well!
Pale, soft red berry with a little brick. Sweet, softly spiced and earthy. Beautiful fragrance. Sweet fruit, soft and fleshy, gentle spice. Excellent acidity keeping it fresh, tannins are now very fine and soft. Despite age the earthy characteristics do not dominate, sweet fruit is still key. Delicious drinking now.

From magnum. Nicely evolved around the rim, slightly cloudy. Open on the nose, notes of red and dark fruit, smoke, spices, slightly floral, mushrooms, barnyardy. Still quite tannic, in fact a little green and drying towards the finish, decent fruit, quite spicy. The barnyard notes took over more and more as the night went on. Drink up. 90-92

Yes, yes, it’s still there, really nice old wine, who would have thought that it was enjoyed in Oklahoma City! How much longer? Really good.
