Opened for an hour (no decant). Really nice depth and complexity - great variety of fruit and nicely balanced acid and tannins. Good finish. This wine has held up incredibly well and aged nicely.

Wow, what a wine. Initially a bit hot on the nose, it took only a few minutes in the glass allowed it to show its stuff. Drinking perfectly for my palate. Impeccable balance, layered fruit and just a hint of secondary notes. Refreshing acidity. What more could you ask for??

Opaque violet color with purple and red fruit, dust, peppery aromas. On the palate it’s medium bodied with refreshing, juicy acidity and well integrated velvety tannins with black cherry, mulberry baking spices, vanilla flavors complicated with hints of sasparilla and chicory.
It’s fun to think that the fruit for this wine may have been picked 10 years ago around this time! Composed of the 22 interplanted varieties at Bedrock Vineyard the wine is roughly 55% Zinfandel, 20% Carignane, with the remainder being all the other cofermented things (Petite Sirah, Alicante Bouschet, Mourvedre, Grand Noir, Trousseau Noir, Merlot, Cabernet, Syrah, Tempranillo, Castets, etc. etc.)

So glad I waited on this one. These wines just get better and better... and there is a sense that over time the winemaking team continues to better understand the qualities of what they are working with and how to shape them into their best versions of themselves.
