Lunch chez moi with AG, JP & FG (The Shed, Ealing): Bottle 5/5. This was in good place and going strong. Mid gold. Quite a lot of wet wool on the nose. Some apricot and peach with some citrus pith in the finish. A good wine though I am not sure age has improved it - perhaps just changed it. I do prefer the (more expensive) Chenin blends such as Cartology.

The nose feels floral and open. The palate is rounder and more intense than the nose suggests. There's honey, unripe stone fruits, and a lovely pithy, bitter character that lingers in the finish. Very stylish.

Superb, allaying ageing fears after the last older bottle of this wine was moderately oxidised. Rich orange peel notes on the nose to start, but this becomes more cleaner and more lemony with air, with classic wet wool. Palate is clean and focused. Balanced and integrated acidity. In a good place right now. Great value too.

Pretty much the same as my last note. This seems to be riding a nice plateau, and I'm not sure it's going to get any better from here. With that said, it doesn't seem to be in any danger of a big drop off, so drink at your leisure.

A mightily impressive Chenin,Clairette and Viognier blend . Stone fruits of fine Chenin but with richness and perfume too but sensible alcohol unlike some SA Chenins
