This is honestly best on the third night. Not like sea change. Initially it shows dark chocolate oak and that green, weedy note so many Cab's from '99 CA have. The magic of KK soaks all that in with extended air though. The cool, edging on minty Cab takes over. Plenty of richness still. Light tannin and the perfect acidity. This has a long way to go. Recommend a decant now. *heart*

This showed really well. Maybe the most aromatic wine of night. Slightly herbal, tobacco leaf, dill, bit of eucalyptus. Back fruit typicity of SCM on palate. Great finish. Fully mature but held up well over 2 nights.

Served blind in a field of 15-20 yo European wines, this certainly stood out for its still luscious fruit, slightly herbaceous notes, lowish acidity and lowish alcohol. Very difficult to place at first and required many hints to get to Santa Cruz.
Really quite lovely right now if you get the opportunity

This was pretty solid, and in the middle of its drinking window. Great savory aromatics of tobacco and cedar. Palate shows the sweet black fruits of Santa Cruz mtns, along with the typical savory elements like tobacco leaf and leather. Holds on the palate for some time. Less smoke than Ridge MB but otherwise similar presentation of fruit. With integrested tannins I feels like this is at peak.

(Kathryn Kennedy Cabernet Sauvignon) Bordeaux-like nose of iron, tart red fruit, black fruit and mint; elegant palate of iron, black fruit and roasted plum; medium-plus finish
