  • Deep super ripe red plummy purple in colour with just the beginnings of a hint of age in the colour. Still quite a powerful Malbec nose of blackberry, black currant, black plums, pierre concassee, tar and camphor. Medium full bodied, moderately high acidity and still some sandy tannins on the finish. Nice overall balance and mouthfeel. The fruit is dark and sweet and replete with the same flavours of blackberry, black currant and black plums as well as some cedar bark and tar on the finish. Quite lingering and flavourful at the end. Very lovely!

  • 13.5%. Organic viticulture. Medium-dark murky red. On the nose, lavender, cedar and dark fruits (black cherry, raspberry?) reminding of something like southern Rhône, in the mouth a savoury note, something brioche-like on the long finish. Prominent acidity, soft tannins. Would not at all have thought this your usual South American Malbec if tasted blind. Very nice.

  • The wine finishes medium. The wine looks violet colored. The legs are medium. There is moderate sediment in the bottle.

  • A fascinating, alluring, elegant wine. Fabulous aromas of blood orange, lavender, and musky flowers. High-toned but not light on the palate, with the muskiness returning, along with a chalky minerality. Moderately long finish and a pleasanly acidic aftertaste of passion fruit. If I had tasted this blind, I would not have guessed New World, and certainly wouldn't have guessed Malbec. This is far lighter on its feet than any Malbec I've ever had, and some less monolithic than most. It reminds me more of a Crozes-Hermitage, or even a full-throttle Beaujolais. Quite a good deal at $15.
