A very interesting wine. While it's clearly well past its drinking window, it was still very interesting to taste. Intense savory notes combining citrus zest, herbs and spices. The hue showed some evolution as expected, but appropriate for its age. The palate is where the fatigue shows up with the acidity dominating and little textural balance to be found. It must have been a beautiful wine 10 - 20 years ago.

From memory, consumed last evening. I popped my last bottle about 15 years ago at a tasting. The wine was undrinkable, and we all believed, unredeemable. Glad I sat on my other bottles. Today, this wine is fabulous and beautiful. Deep golden hue. Explosive, complex bouquet. Not at all maderized or showing its age. Still great structure, refreshing, and balanced. A wide panoply of scents and flavors. Like nothing I've ever tasted.

The Usual Suspects...a new tradition; 3/22/2013-3/24/2013 (Lucerne Inn): Color: Golden yellow Smell: Beautiful dried tropical fruits, wet animal, wax, lanolin Taste: Pear, apple, and tropical fruits Overall: Medium body, medium fruit, low acidity, moderate finish. Very Good to Excellent. If I had this I would be inclined to drink these now. I have VERY LITTLE EXPERIENCE with this wine. However, this is a wine that faded and fell apart in about 6 hours time.

This wine is still drinking great but I cannot see how it would get any better. Has some oxidative notes but the wine just sings.
