Chateau Beaucastel vs Vieux Telegraph with Steven Spurrier (Handford Wines, London): Handford Wines, Beaucastel & Vieux Telegraph with Steven Spurriier, London10-Feb-10 Pale in colour which does not betray its age. Big on the nose. Less mineral than the 2005 we tried before however more spicy. A great experince and one that would last another 10yrs ( Andreas 91, Nicol 93 >> avg 92)

With Michael Lehmann at Singer & Foy vertical tasting of Beaucastel. Light yellow gold. Somewhat pungent nose, with more than a passing resemblance to a Chassagne-Montrachet. In the mouth, seems less than special. A bit weird initially, it finishes with some complexity. Vanilla finish. Should be better. 5-11-13-4: 83/100.

With MPL and BLR at Singer & Foy tasting of new Rhones. Light straw color, rather pale. Nice nose, yeasty. Attractive. Yellow fruit. Delicate flavor, light body. Quite excellent, very elegant. Slightly tart. 5-12-17-8: 92/100.
