Elegant, vigorous, lifted floral aromatics. There's so much intensity and depth to the red fruited palate that you'd want to let this rest another 10 years minimum. (2323/7712)

02182/7712. Pinching aromatics, blueberry, woody, stony, wet forest floor, rose petal, red spice, vanilla hue, so creamy and concentrated. Amazing pleasure to be drinking today, real density and chewiness on the palate, an approachable preview of rest of the decade. 95-96

Overt whole bunch aromatics with green tinge to start that evolve toward floral notes. Palate offers more complexity than charm due to lack of sweetness, though that backfills with air and really builds. Requires decant. (2325/7712)

A rare occurrence for a Leroy Clos de Vougeot, but I find the fruit to be on the lighter side and somewhat overwhelmed by the acidity, stem notes, and tannins. A very pretty wine, regardless. I would not open a bottle for at least 10 years, as the tannins are persistent.

Christie's Wine Dinner: A Journey Through the Vinkällare of Staffan Hansson (RPM Steak - Chicago IL): All red fruit comes across as very forward to start, more reserved and structured middle-to-finish. Plenty of spice, also unmistakably Leroy styled. Power throughout with clear Grand Cru density. Good now, but clearly a wine that will reward 5+ more years in the cellar.
