Deeper yellow green gold; nose was a bit awkward and slightly off putting on day one but a day in the fridge has helped round out the flavors and seemingly the texture too, there is still a slightly musty developed odor that interferes but there’s plenty of honeyed yellow fruit and good minerality here, some mushroom, somewhat of a seaweed and tea note as well; on the palate the Spatlese texture is still strong and viscous, quite a bit of sweetness but not into the dessert realm yet, nicely honeyed peach and golden apples, seamless texture and less spicy botrytis than previous note suggested, medium length finish, the palate makes up for the nose and this was really nice with the chicken tikka masala tonight.

From magnum. PNP. Cork perfect color light gold. This is superb. Swishing shows RS but sipping allows the acid to balance. The finish on this goes on and on. Great today but will go and go I think in large format. If I had 750s I would stick a toe in the water…..

Golden yellow; spicy pineapple and ripe peach with luscious nectarine, honeyed and fully developed this bottle had probably peaked if not been a little advanced, very tasty.

The 2004 Zeltinger Schlossberg was wonderfully rich and sweet on the nose with dusty yellow florals, moist earth, crushed sea shells and stone. So textural on the palate, with medium-weight body, giving way to notes of sweet mango, ripe red apple, butterscotch, hints of lime and spice. The finish was long, resonating on sweetly spiced citrus and yellow florals.
