(Selbach-Oster Zeltinger Schlossberg Riesling Spätlese) ($32.00) ...and was I ever happy to see the ’07 still available. The wine is utterly lovely, mirabelles, cox-orange-pippins, herbal and citrussy and shady and it seems to almost lead the palate toward some point deep in the cool fragrant woods. The 2009, which will be offered later, is similarly shady and balsam-like, with a panoply of inferences; quince, nutmeg, fennel, sorrel – but that is Schlossberg, the miasmic allusive spell it casts.

Absolutely fading away by now. You can taste it has been gorgeous, but now it is old and tired
