Brick red colour with a mature nose showing licorice, dried herbs and wet soil in a very nice and warm expression and surrounded by a lovely lilac flowers scent. Palate is still showing plenty of fruit to carry this forward, with smoothed tannins and a long acidity before the long finish showing leather and some bitterness of dried herbs. This was very good to combine with grilled meat and goat cheese and felt more fresh together with food, than by itself. Ready to drink up, but should keep for a few years longer. (Best 2005-2020)

Did not feel like a 26 year old wine. Fruity with mature hints, great acidity, some smoky hints, a bit thin even for a montepulciano. It is great to get wines like this with age (and good condition too) at this price, but this is more fun than good. But its not bad at all. Guess I had bigger expectations than this bottle could deliver...

Dark brick red colour. Mature nose showing violets, moulder leaves and leather. Palate is smooth with mature leather hints mixed with nice fruit. The finish shows freshness and is drinking very nicely with grilled entrécôte!

Rich and mature bouquet with lots of ripe, sweet & sour cherrys, some plums, spices and oak.
Mediumbodied, slightly elegant, surprisingly fruity and rich with silky tannins, smooth acid and a good, long finish. Mature and balanced and still with plenty of life. Decant!
I had it with a slow roasted moose loin with roasted cherry tomatoes and oven roasted potatoes. Good!
