  • Definitely well into its decline. Still interesting, though. The nose is fermented plums sivved through leather. On the palate, an attack of overripe black fruit, with a bacon-vinaigrette finish. As I said, interesting, but probably not interesting enough that I won't open something else rather shortly.

  • Some nice bright red fruit that stayed together pretty well, but a little bit of high acid, seems like it's beginning to fade, although this may be due to poor storage (basement cellar).

  • Tasted as part of a blind tasting. This was my favorite wines of the blind wines. Brick/garnet in color, with pale/medium color and showing sediment. Aromas of bacon, sweat, leather and earth. Soft tannins with lots of acidity and a powerful flavor intensity made for a well balanced wine. Enjoyed this more than the previous time.

  • Miracles do happen. This sat on the counter for 3 days - poured it in a glass out of curiosity. Color much deeper and fuller (purple/blackish). Nose reserved but having dark fruit. Flavor nicer than the other day! A little smoke and bacon smell, texture nicer than the sharp stuff a few days back. A better wine after being recorked and sitting for 3 days(?)
