BYOB dinner NOTK (Supernova hotel, Rotterdam): Such a great wine, showing the elegant side of Cote Rotie. Don’t let be misunderstood: this is a big wine, but with such elegance and class. Blind I could mistake this for a very structured Pinot Noir. Medium+ intensity with smokiness, bacon, chalky minerality, deep black cherries, red and blue fruit. Medium+ acidity, medium+ tannins, long finish. 94+

Nice dark black pepper and dried blackberry aromas yet flavor profile came access’s more acid driven with lighter depth. Good, but was hoping for more here. Vintages matter. Drink up.

Trying another bottle after a year. Opened for 2 hours. The color is medium garnet with some orange/brown on the rim. On the nose: Pepper, smoke, cassis, violets, plum and blood. On the palate: Tart cherry, cassis, plum, pepper and iron. Very long finish and broad flavor profile. This wine is fabulous and in a great place for drinking. Great mouthfeel. This a great example of the Northern Rhône. Great complexity.

Tart cherry and red currant, spice and a hint of smoke. Smooth and a taste that says drink some more. The wine is in a very good place for drinking and has many good years ahead.

Les Gobeloteurs Wine Garden Party (Domaine Stéphane Ogier - Ampuis): So much great stuff here, but for today very reductive. I would be exciting to taste this wine tomorrow!
