Les Lieux-dits de Cote Rotie - Deconstructing Cote Rotie with Stephane Ogier (Prince Sydney, 40 Hansard Street): Preposterously concentrated dark berries with spice, earth, polished oak, meaty elements and slight liquorice and otuches of violet. With time it begins to get a certain jaminess to the fruit and the liquorice grows more concentrated. Juicy with very slight volatile acidity, stalky notes to the tannins and this closes down the palate a little there is some fruit cake notes here as well and the whole carries very long on the finish with a touch of red berry fruit. Hmm, a slight lack of balance for me.

Decanted 3 hrs, tasted over 2 hrs -opaque med dark red -very pretty aromatics straight out of the gates with a melange of classic N. Rhone features - pepper, bacon, dark berry, and a strong minerally streak with a touch of oak spice -med acidity, med+ concentration and weight, palate not as complex as nose but still quite expansive with predominant dark/red berry fruit, med tannins and very good length, oak evident but not intrusive -less modern-styled than anticipated and not as flamboyant as when tasted shortly after release, this is excellent now though still just an adolescent with the structure and stuffing to offer a lot of potential for continued improvement

Bobby Kacher Tasting and Dinner (The Boarding House - Chicago IL): Dark color. Smoky red and black cherry aromas with modest spice, a great floral note and ever-so-subtle earthy elements. Concentrated black fruit flavors with great textures and nuance from middle to finish. Long, spicy finish.

Small sample at store. A wow wine. Very deep, penetrating purple. Nose of red/black fruit mixed with bacon and earth. Intoxicating at such a young age. Full palate – fills every crevice of the mouth. Quite long and in balance. A puppy, but a gorgeous one – should age remarkable well. (95+)
