Burg Blowout (Woodstock, GA): From a bottle with seepage, darker crimson color; nose jumps out of the glass with Burgundy funk, leather, dark cherry, and sweet wood and incense; the palate is ripe though good balance prevails in an extremely difficult vintage, good tannin wrap tells you it's NSG; many of us agreed that this is what we think of when we think of Burgundy; much more powerful and masculine than most of the Burgs today.

Could easily pass for a Central Coast Pinot. Rich and ripe. In sync with the vintage. If you don't mind that, it is pretty good; if it turns you off, you won't like it. Not my favorite style, but it still holds interest.

Second bottle of this also showed quite well. Drinking very nicely right now.

Ripe fruit with a roasted note, noticeable oak presence, but pretty well balanced and enjoyable.

Actually quite good! Clear gentle nose, some structure, some length. A strange but in a way enjoyable wine.
