Ruby with a hint of garnet, medium (-) to light in color. This is a surprisingly light-colored wine which delivers in spades on the palate. Ripe, sweet cherry and raspberry, with a bitter-sweet, herbal finish, which gives it a distinctive character. Tasty and very food friendly. Drinking well now, it is not likely to improve with further cellaring. In a blind tasting, it would be very difficult to peg this as a wine from deep Southern Italy.

Soft and juicy with ripe and warm red fruits. There's a nice vein of earthy bitters running through the middle. Round rich mouthfeel but restrained flavors on the palate. $28 off the list at Casa Luca.

Bright clear cherry red color. One of the thinnest looking wines I've ever seen. Unfortunately, the taste is much the same. Thin and lacking complexity.
