  • Clear and urgent nose of white grapes, white peaches, red apple, crushed stones and nectarine, lime or tangerine - hints of golden growing with age. Hints of green and herbs. Crisp and lively, great balance and drive on the palate. The superb acidity has integrated well with the lovely orchard fruits. There are hints of golden notes along with the crisp citrus, powdered stone, spices. This is juicy and delicious and still thrilling. The finish is long and showing some honey along with the stones and fruit. Nose - 5.5/6, Palate - 5.5/6, Finish - 5/6, Je ne Sais Quoi - 1.5/2 = 17.5/20.

  • #03-14, 7% abv. Still consistent with the wine that I had on release. Tons of acid on the back end, but the palate profile is becoming creamier and softer than necessary to balance out that acidity. I'm starting to have a few concerns about how this is aging. Will probably start drinking up the balance of my stash sooner than later.

  • just like the last bottle - I love this - it’s a 9 on the acid scale instead of the 10 it was on release - but it is incredibly exciting with tons of lime and citrus, powered stones and white florals, some other tropicals, rock candy -

  • Time to check in on this. Will it be as good as I thought on release? It’s different, mind you, but the spectacular quality and exuberance I saw when this was a baby has evolved into something gaining complexity and depth while not quite as burning bright. The nose is perfumed and as deep and still as a glacial lake. Herbal, almost like lavender soap (good way), white flowers, red apple, white peach, lime and Kaffir lime, rock candy, raspberry and vanilla and cream. Minerals and powdered stones. Just starting to show some golden elements: golden Apple and a bit of honey. This is fully 3-D on the nose. Perfectly poised on the palate, enters with honey, lime, herbs, red and golden apple, tangerine, stones. This is full of flavor and takes over the mouth - mostly driven by the serious acid and extract combination. Lip smacking and still showing some extract in reserve, the acid and honey carry this over into the finish which has lime, honey and stony minerality. Widening and potent with just a touch of bitterness on the finish. Still maturing, I would think it will reach there in 8-15 years and hold for a long time. Stupendous. Nose - 5.5-6/6, Palate - 5.5/6, Finish - 5-5.5/6, Je ne Sais Quoi - 1.5-2/2 = 17.5-19/20.

  • #03-14, 7% abv. Fairly consistent with my previous notes; this still has a slight hint of sponti, but with some nice white fruits. The electricity seems to finally be sizzling out, giving way to a little more roundness on the palate. Nonetheless, there's still plenty of acidity, minerality, and freshness here, and the moderate bit of sweetness works really nicely with the structure here.
