The palate can be reminiscent of a fine pinot even if it is bloodier. We have the acidity of a young Pinot Noir, but with the density and depth offered by the old vines. Juice full of energy, rich, with a huge amount of dark fruit on the palate. Silky touch on aeration. Nice balance, energetic and deep. Final where a tannic point remains, it remains melted but sufficient to note it. Great balsamic length.
An excellent Barbaresco still quite young for its 15 years of age.

NV Rogna (Marta, NYC): [Double-decanted for a half hour around 5pm.] Lovely nose of black fruit and flowers. Silky, rich, complex, lots of intense black fruit. Open 13 days: Slight hints of oxidation, but wow, the complexity of this wine is just stunning. 95-97

Roagna Exploration Tastings (Morrell Wine Bar & Cafe): The nose was remarkably pretty, showing a mix of strawberry and dried florals which gave way to a dusting of exotic spices and dark minerality. On the palate, I found a lifted and silky expression with tremendous energy as pure red berry fruits and spice washed across the senses, before fine tannin began to settle in and firm up the experience. The finish was long, tannic, but also lively due to remnants of brisk acidity with hints of dried strawberry lingering.

Floral and balsamic nose.
