The wine seemed much better last night when initially opened. The nose had an amalgam of spice, violets and blue fruits but tonight they were subdued. The palate seemed to have lost its mid palate depth and had a sour cherry edge to it. Quite strange! I guess the take away is that the wine is close to its peak now and needs to be consumed sooner rather than later and is somewhat better on opening rather than seeing how it evolves over night.

Purple/red colour, a bit cloudy. Light, slightly aged nose with earthy characters. Simple and light, with slightly sour finish. Probably past it’s peak (or certainly this bottle).

Light red with a purple hue in the glass. Crisp red fruit on the nose. Nice balance with a tight clean acid finish. This wine probably needs more time to mellow and develop some complexity but given the firm structure cellaring should be a good bet.
